I Gained 750 Subscribers With Just 2 YouTube Promotions
Not long ago, I crossed 500 subscribers on YouTube. A few days later, I hit 750 subs—all thanks to just two YouTube ad campaigns. Sounds great, right? Quick growth, low effort, no weekly grind. But there’s a twist…
edit: as of now I am at 800 Subscribers on Youtube
Buying Growth Is Simple—But Comes With a Catch
YouTube promotions are easy to set up. Pick your video, set your audience, drop a budget, and boom—you’re reaching thousands. But here’s what Youtube Promotions don't tell you: less than 10% of viewers watched past the first 5 seconds.
That’s brutal retention.
Why? Like Meta and TikTok, YouTube is increasingly pay-to-win—but only if you're targeting the right people. And that’s the real challenge: Google Ads don’t always show your video to the right niche. So you might get subs, but not loyal fans.
Here’s how I can do it Differently
Rather than abandon promotions, I’m adapting. I'm using the Nas Daily method:
- Cut every 3–5 seconds to keep energy high
- Keep videos short and visually rich
- Swap talking heads for better footage and music from sites like Artlist.io or PremiumBeat
Promos aren’t bad—they’re a testing tool. Boosting videos helps me learn what thumbnails, intros, and topics hook people best. I just don’t rely on them for deep engagement.
🛡️ Should You Try YouTube Ads?
Absolutely—if you treat them like experiments. Promos won’t fix bad content, but they can help you test ideas faster than waiting on the algorithm.
Think of them as a shortcut to insight, not instant success.
