so just combine both?
Youtube better than newsletters
Came across articles like this on Video Content is generally better than writing. I am not surprised if more articles like this pop up. Video like TikTok, Reels and Shorts are already being made with successes. There is something about being able to connect with audiences using moving images, faster than words.
Here is some excerpts from the post by Burk
1. Video Builds a Deeper Connection Faster
When people see your face, hear your voice, and feel your energy, they connect with you in a way words can’t replicate.
Writing is powerful, but it’s like a one-dimensional handshake. Video? It’s a full-on coffee date.
People trust what they can see and hear. Facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language make your message more authentic.
It’s why a 2-minute video can establish trust more effectively than 10,000 words in a blog.

Algorithms and Substack
Google has been updating their search algorithm and crushing small blog owners. I already left Wordpress.com and started blogging on medium due to that and Wordpress.com being unfriendly and trying to do everything.
I have seen here on substack the benefits of email marketing I write a post and it gets send to an audience I managed to curate
Substack I feel going into 2025 is going to be a discovery engine once they start pushing more video content type posts.
Its also slowly evolving into a social media platform already it are having their free boost in subs and followers. Notes is already the new Feed timeline.
Youtube Benefits
I left Wordpress and went to substack for a while but I see that Youtube might have more potential than writing a blog long term.
According to the Article there is still organic
With AI Coming out I feel that those Youtubers with real faces showing themselves will fare much better in the long run.
google also owns YouTube so since no SEO on the blog front have to use their video platform as an alternative.
The Playbook Thesis
Be everywhere, media is so fragmeneted now with so many platforms vying for attention. So you just have to cross post your message to as many platforms as you can maybe 2.
Build community that is what NAS daily talks about I his conference don’t just depend on the platforms.
Youtube, Tiktok or Podcasts to attract and bring users to sign up for a newsletter for deeper engagement.
Capture Emails. That is the next level and funnel them into a forum or similar platform. You need to get emails or mobile numbers that is the only way to have a direct communication with them. But this takes time and a lot of trust these days to stand out.
In the end Video will be more important this year, yet I still think to keep my own blog website as a repository of my videos embeded with my wirtten content on my own domain blog such as CG BOSS Games as with all platforms they go through changes.

YouTube better than a blog
Video is surpassing written text so might as well combine them both.
