I feel sad reading this. Unity has been through a lot with the Runtime Fees trying to get profitable and maybe just buying too many things.

There has been a lot of quiet layoffs or sudden ones where studios or departments close. From Meta, Ubisoft and Unity. I think Playstation has some too this year.

I do feel as a employee time to take being independant seriously. I see that it might be a way forward.
